In 1986, Executive Director Joseph Felfoldi started his business with a pro-active attitude and ambitions which for that period in Hungary can be considered pioneering. Initially, attention focused on his onsite printing factory (still in use today) and the production of colourful, eye-catching postcards, flyers, brochures, and event material primarily for the local Hungarian audience.
In parallel, Mr Felfoldi made inroads into the cosmetics industry, manufacturing designer bath salts, perfumes and other such products including own-brand handmade cosmetics made from natural materials – a development which anticipated the growth in the organic/craft market.
Not limiting his scope to production, Mr Felfoldi also sold his products in his exclusive shop, then located in the venerable Golden Bull Hotel in Debrecen. The products were sold under the brand name of Felfoldi.
As a result of these early successes Mr Felfoldi was encouraged to develop new target areas, in particular, the face of the future: children. Mr Felfoldi introduced new creative social games into the market for children over three years of age, and then in 1990 he launched the manufacture of Felfoldi confectionery products - which has since enjoyed unbroken growth and success and continues to form our main profile today.
